Hey friends! Dave here from Transfer Express. Today, we’re talking all about some of my favorite budget-minded fashion-forward tees from District.
If you’re unfamiliar, District® clothing is a wholesale apparel brand available at Transfer Express as well as other apparel suppliers like Sanmar. I love District apparel for the quality, fit and feel- they’re not those budget tees that fall apart after one wash or fit awful- these are premium tees without the premium price, and recently, Ive been using these styles for the majority of shirts i’m printing. So let’s take a dive into some of the different standard t-shirt options available and what makes them different from eachother- Ready? Let’s get to it!
When it comes to wholesale t-shirts, there are a lot of options available on the market. District does a great job of matching that selection with some different options of their own. But, before we really dive in, it’s worth a mention that District is expanding their catalog this year with some additional styles and long sleeve options that are sure to wow your customers too- so keep an eye out for those!
Today, we’re focusing on the #1 most requested time of all time- the standard t-shirt… So we’ll be looking at the differences between these District tees: DT5000, DT104, DT6000, DT8000, and DT564. We’ll check similarities and differences no matter how big or small to help you make a decision for your t-shirt business. I do want to note, all of these styles are available in XS-4XL sizing, and I’ll be wearing a size XL for these here today.
Up First, the DT5000 The concert tee! The tee that rocks with comfort is a 100% soft spun cotton base available in 27 colors with some heathers and neons, which vary from a 50/50 or 90/10 cotton/poly blend. With 4.5 oz fabric in 30 singles it’s got a great, luxurious midweight feel. The concert tee here has a slim body and short sleeves with a great fitted look and feel.
Coming in as the lowest priced option of our styles today, you’ve got some profit potential for a great feel and fit right off the bat.
Next, let’s take a look at the DT6000, The Very Important Tee. This 4.3 oz t-shirt is just slightly more lightweight than the 5000. The 34 singles give it a slightly tighter fiber too, giving not only a great feel, but a great canvas for decorating. The 6000 here available in an expanded line of 35 colors with those blends in heathers, frosts and neons again ranging from 50/50 to 90/10’s.
Now, let’s checkout the DT104, The perfect weight tee. Available in 24 colors, it specs out almost identical to the VIT we just saw at 4.3 ounce, 32 single fabric. This perfect weight tee has been my go-to for these district tees prior to making this video (although we’ve got 3 more styles to try and change my mind). The balance of price, fit and quality is just perfect here with this one. The collar and cuffs are a little bit less wide, for that very fashionable look popular in recent years.
Next up, with sustainability as a hot topic for decorators these days, we have to checkout the DT8000- The District Re-Tee. The Re-Tee is an affordable option for a 100% recycled fabric t-shirt that’s made from reclaimed material that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill. It clocks in at 5.3 ounces as a 60/40 cotton poly blend in 24 singles. Available in 11 mostly-heather colorways just like this heathered navy we have on. For sustainability on a budget, this tees definitely got it. Definitely worth a mention, is this one has a printed label, so if you’re looking for a style you can relabel, this one is going to be a little tricky.
The last tee we’re looking at today is the DT564 Medal Tee. Available in 6 of these 90/10 cotton poly blends with 30 singles you get a great fitting tee in this snow-heather like look. With a similar fit and feel to the other tees we’ve seen here today, this one is great for the cotton dominant fabric with this blended look- allowing for easy decorating regardless of what print method you’re using.
